STEP 11 - CAUTIONS

broken image

YARROW|POM is an amazing oil that can be used by just about everybody.

However, a few CAUTIONS apply. As follows:

Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. May stain surfaces and fabrics.

Let’s take a closer look at some of these cautions.

POSSIBLE SKIN SENSITIVITY

Most people can use this oil “neat,” which means right out of the bottle. Since Pomegranate Seed Oil is not an Essential Oil, it’s addition to this duo helps dilute the Yarrow Essential Oil, further reducing the chance of skin irritation. However, there are always exceptions, since we all have different types of skin; so, if you have sensitive skin, you can further dilute with Fractionated Coconut Oil.

PREGNANT OR NURSING MOMS

There is some evidence that Yarrow Essential Oil can affect the menstrual cycle and other pregnancy considerations, so it’s best to avoid YARROW|POM during pregnancy.

STAINING

YARROW|POM is a beautiful deep blue. This vivid color is a result of its chamazulene content, which indicates some of its greatest benefits, especially its antioxidant power. However, this color may stain some surfaces and fabrics, so be aware of this when applying it.

DIFFUSERS

In this Class, our discussion of YARROW|POM has revolved around topical and internal uses. It’s not that this oil cannot be used aromatically, but its benefits are best delivered topically and internally. Also, be aware that thick, slow-dropping oils can gum up or even clog or ruin diffusers, so use caution when diffusing ANY thick oil, including YARROW|POM.

NOTE: Did you know you can take an entire Class on the subject of ESSENTIAL OIL DANGERS AND PRECAUTIONS? Ask for details if interested.
